This is one of the regions of the country with the lowest average wind speeds which makes wind power unlikely to be highly suitable; however there might be local exceptions.

However the Midlands do typically experience over 3 ½ hours sunshine per day, and in some areas over 4 hours. This means that it is an excellent place for solar solutions such as PV and Solar Thermal panels.

It is also a region where the average temperatures are high making the use of heat pumps, both Ground source and Air source effective.
